THE KOLT STORY

Growing up, my relationship with my hair was complicated.

Like so many people with textured and natural hair, I spent years searching for products that actually felt right. Products promised nourishment, strength, definition and healthier hair, yet too often I was left choosing between formulas that performed and formulas I actually felt good about using.

Some left my hair dry and stripped. Others were overloaded with ingredients without any clear reason for why they were there.

Eventually, I stopped searching for the perfect product and started thinking about what I would create instead.

That idea became KOLT.

What began with research, experimentation and a genuine obsession with better haircare developed into a much bigger philosophy: every ingredient should have a purpose, and every formula should have to perform.

I immersed myself in the science behind hair and scalp care, looking at how different cleansers, conditioning agents, botanical extracts and oils interact with the hair. I learned that “natural” alone wasn't enough. A product could have an incredible ingredient list and still fail to deliver results.

That became the foundation of THE KOLT STANDARD.

KOLT combines naturally derived ingredients with science-led formulation to create products designed around function, performance and purpose.

Our formulas are made without sulfates, parabens, silicones or drying alcohols. But KOLT isn't about removing ingredients just to create a cleaner-looking label. It's about thoughtfully selecting what goes into every formula and understanding why it's there.

Research shows that surfactants and other ingredients commonly used in shampoos can influence different aspects of hair and scalp health depending on the formulation.¹ That's why we look at the formula as a whole rather than judging a product by one ingredient.

Over time, that original idea grew beyond a single product.

It became the KOLT Archive — a collection of haircare created to cleanse, hydrate, nourish, define, hold and style without losing sight of the condition of your hair underneath it all.

Our goal is simple:

Create products that perform today while helping your hair look and feel better over time.

KOLT was born from the same frustration that sends so many of us searching through product after product, wondering why nothing quite feels right.
